How far will they push this tired old plan?
A powerful executive puts her career and family on the line when she begins a whirlwind affair with her much younger intern.. Jean Reno shot scenes for the film, but was completely cut from the finished film.. Graham Norton in the film and flavors: Nicole Kidman /Cynthia Erivo/James Norton/Chris McClausland/Benson Boone (2024). female “empowerment” in the form of a story involving a much older woman pursuing a much younger man. This time, the guy looks old enough to be her nephew.
Except Lolita, of course
I know old Hollywood was full of older actors cast alongside younger actresses, but the plot of the story had nothing to do with her age. And the character of an older actor who targeted her because she was younger. Movies these days seem to be lazy with the same older woman/younger man storyline, but the older woman attacking the man is intentional, and his age is used as some kind of emotional, validating factor. .Admittedly, funny, when male characters are portrayed with much younger actresses, they look like dirty old men going through a midlife crisis. When an older woman does it, it comes across as "chic" and "released".
To prove to herself that she’s still worth something
As someone else pointed out here, what’s with the hypocrisy and double standards. This story is getting really boring, but if they want to continue it, then tell it like it is. A dirty old woman who wants to assert herself by choosing a younger man. I mean, that’s what women said about men in the same situation. I haven’t heard in years that older actresses are in so many movies (“unfair”) compared to older ones.
Let’s see some creativity in storytelling
actors who can still get great roles. Tough. Actually, there are many great roles for older actresses. But why so many have to do with this theme of tying up a much younger man. There are definitely better parts for women that have a little substance instead of the same old style fake.
Not just their attempts to assert themselves with younger men
Let’s look at some stories starring some of our great older actresses, but another young one is included. We need to see women empowered through their skills and offerings as successful women.
