I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood why you’d put a skinny, good-looking, toned actor in huge prosthetics and a fat suit… especially since I think he’s similar to others a well-known actor. I also didn’t really understand why this spinoff came out and to be honest I’m sick of Batman reboots.
But I didn’t expect to like it so much
But after episode 1, I can confirm that this series is fantastic (so far). I only saw it because I knew it was supposed to be seen as a bridge between the first and second films, and because I surprisingly liked Farrell in the role in the first. The acting is amazing, the script is excellent and I was surprised by a few quick twists.
I hope it continues well because I really can’t wait for the next episode
What I liked the most was that there was a lot more color than in Batman. I noticed this almost immediately because it was my main complaint about the movie (I felt like I was seeing it through a Zack Snyder lens).
